Aromatherapy and Essential Oils

I am a true believer in aromatherapy and using essential oils. They can be used for: relaxation, headaches, muscle aches, common colds, sleep enhancement, bug repellent and more.  I have diffusers throughout the house and I keep little roller bottles in my purse for when I am feeling anxious or tired. They are a great pick me up and I feel comfortable because they are all natural and made without synthetic ingredients.

“Aromatherapy oils are made by extracting the natural oils from various parts of plants. Typically, steam distillation is used to produce the oils. Steam will run through the plant breaking down the cells that carry the oil. The oil and steam are then carried to a cooling chamber where they are separated resulting in the capture of the essential oil.” –

Essential oils have so many benefits and with a little research you can find out which oils best fit your families needs. My favorite place to buy my oils and products is Barred Screech Owl. The shop specializes in homemade remedies, including essential oils for internal, topical and personal care along with homemade body butters and lip balm. What I love most about this small business owner is that she works with me and makes products to my specific needs; she can do the same for you!

Two of my all time favorite products are the Spring in Your Step roller and the Morning Fresh Bar Soap. The roller has a light citrus scent with a hint of frankincense which is a natural anti-inflammatory. The crisp clean scent is a perfect compliment to Spring and Summer time. I have a bar of Morning Fresh Bar Soap at almost every sink in my house. I love that it is minimally packaged and therefore good for the environment. The beautiful subtle smell of rosemary fills my bathroom when I use this all natural soap. It also makes the perfect gift!

Small businesses are a great way to shop and the customer service is personalized.  Check out Barred Screech Owl today and give a small business some love!

Hi I'm Lisa, I am a pinterest obsessed DIYer who loves all things blue. I am excited to share the things I love: home decor projects, recipes, and crafts while being as environmentally and health conscience as I can. I hope that you enjoy these little pleasures in life as much as I do.
