Kombucha is a fermented tea that has been around for a very long time and is associated with its gut health benefits. Not only does it taste good but, it is also good for you. I have always wanted to make my own kombucha but, getting my hands on a SCOBY from a reliable source is harder than I thought. So instead, my go to kombucha is GTs Gingerade. It is one of the lowest sugar varieties that I have found. If you prefer another flavor, feel free to change it in the recipe below.
Benefits of Kombucha:
After drinking water and green tea all day, I like to change it up every once in a while. Its fun to come home and have a “fancy” drink while making dinner. I have made the recipe below a virgin drink but, you can exchange the sparkling water for champagne and it is like a mimosa. You can also add a shot of rum or vodka to the recipe and turn it into a cocktail. The possibilities are endless!
- 1/4 Cup Kombucha
- 1/4 Cup Sparkling Water
- 3-4 Mint Leaves
- 1-2 Strawberries diced
- Ice Cubes
- Dice up the strawberries and put them into your glass.
- Rub the mint between your fingers or muddle it a bit to bring out the oils and place them into the glass with the strawberries.
- Add the kombucha and sparkling water to the glass.
- Mix all ingredients together, add some ice and enjoy!
